Like her Brut sister, the 2013 Brut Rosé was made from a base wine of Chardonnay (44%) from Radar Hill east of the Wahluke Slope, and Pinot Noir grapes (55.5%) from the Karma Estate Vineyard. The fruit was selected from cool vineyard sites in the Columbia Valley AVA that are well suited for sparkling wines. A Rosé of Pinot Noir was added to give the wine a rosy color and additional strawberry flavors. This dry sparkling wine was created with WSU alums from Karma Cellars in Chelan, WA to celebrate the grand opening of the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates WSU Wine Science Center. A commemorative label featuring the architectural rendering of the WSU Wine Science Center adorns this limited-edition bottle.
